Celebrate
The celebration of easter is something special in Spain and here in Andalucia the celebrations are very glamorous. In Málaga the processions starts at Domingo Ramos (Palm Sunday in English) and are held every day until Domingo de Pascua (Easter Sunday). In these processions men in pruple hooded cloaks carries big thrones that can weigh more than five tons and be carried by several hundreds of people.

In Seville this week of celebrations is one of the city's most important. A display of floats with life like wooden sculptures that shows scenes from the suffering of Jesus or of the virgin Mary. It is an honor to be a part of the processions and carry the floats. To be able to be a part of the procession the persons have to be a member of one of the brotherhoods. To date there are at least 60 different brotherhoods in Seville and it is often a matter of family tradition which one to join.
